At school I never really had any fixed idea of what I wanted to do for a career but now having been in travel for more than a decade, I can't imagine being happy doing anything else. The thing I love most about it is that every day (every hour even!) is different and I am constantly increasing my knowledge. And, after almost three years with Select World Travel (working for an independent gives me so much more flexibility in finding that perfect holiday for clients) I feel that I have at last found my niche.
My first flight was for a skiing holiday at the age of 17, Since then I have visited many ski resorts in the French Alps; Paris (including Disneyland Paris); Portugal; Egypt; Tunisia; Cyprus; Turkey; Spain; Prague; New York; Orlando; Australia and, most recently, The Seychelles; Mauritius; The Maldives; Dubai; Las Vegas and two of Italy's most beautiful cities Venice and Rome. Not bad really but there are still many more places to visit on my 'Bucket List'!
I really enjoy arranging ski holidays (especially groups) and honeymoons. Having recently married, I know how important it is for one's honeymoon to be absolutely perfect down to the last detail.
So, if you want help in planning YOUR honeymoon please call me and I will be delighted to help.

My interest in travel was sparked by my frequent visits to Spain as a child. I remember one particular occasion at Heathrow seeing a relative off on a flight to Australia and deciding there and then that one day I would work at the airport.
I have now been in the travel industry for 40 years! My first travel job was in the reservations department of a large shipping company. It included escorting groups of travel agents which gave me a good grounding in dealing with many different personalities.
I then joined Hoverlloyd as a stewardess on its Ramsgate to Calais flights (as they liked to call them). This was followed by a short stint with a coach operator. Then, fulfilling that childhood dream, I joined British Airways for the next five years - firstly as ground staff at Heathrow Airport and then as a flight attendant - which took me to many European cities.
After having my children I worked at Bournemouth Airport on the ticket desk for Euroscot Express (sadly no longer in business).
Since then, for the past 16 years, I have worked as a travel consultant joining Select World Travel in March 2012 an independent travel agency which leaves me free to find the best holiday for clients. I particularly enjoy arranging luxury, tailor-made holidays and family holidays whether to a 5-star resort, or a mobile home in France. Cruising is also a special interest.
My own travels have taken me to Australia; Hong Kong; The Caribbean; USA (including San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Alaska); Canada and Egypt. Which still leaves many more places on my 'I want to go there' list!
The satisfaction that comes from knowing that clients are genuinely pleased with the holiday I have found for them is enormous.

My love of travel started with a family holiday to The Maldives when I was in my teens and I have been lucky enough to revisit the islands on three occasions since and it remains one of my favourite destinations.
In 2002/2003 I backpacked around the world travelling extensively in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos and then via Singapore to Australia visiting Sydney, Cairns, the Red Centre and South Autralia. The land 'down under' really is a land of wonder a hugely diverse country that has something for everyone.
Then it was across the Tasman Sea to explore New Zealand for six weeks before heading home via Fiji, The Cook Islands, Tahiti and Los Angeles.
Since then I have taken every opportunity to travel. I really enjoyed revisiting Thailand - this time staying in 4/5-star hotels, a very different experience from my backpacking days! I have been to the Red Sea a few times and fulfilled a lifelong ambition to visit New York (the 'City that never sleeps') and what a fun trip that was!
My honeymoon really was the trip of a lifetime. Stopping off in Hong Kong before arriving in Brisbane where we hired a motorhome and toured the Sunshine Coast. While there we took part in a 4-day live-aboard dive-boat cruise; enjoyed a hot-air balloon trip over Cairns and spent a few days in a rainforest lodge before rounding off the honeymoon with a week in Fiji
But my travels have not only taken me to far-flung places I return to Stockholm (my birthplace) every year and have travelled quite extensively in Europe.
So, if you need help planning that once-in-a-lifetime trip or are simply looking for the ideal place to spend a week or two on a beach I would be more than happy for you to pick my brains!

My passion for travel started at the age of fourteen when my grandparents gave me an atlas I would spend hours daydreaming about the wonderful places that I would one day visit.
In pursuit of those dreams I enrolled at The University of Plymouth, graduating in 2003 with a degree in Tourism Management and embarked on a career in the travel industry that would allow me to continue learning and travel to the places I had dreamed of visiting since a small boy.
Over the past ten years I have been involved in marketing cruises and high-end accommodation in Poole. In March 2013 I joined Select World Travel with the aim of broadening my knowledge of the industry working for an independent agency which puts customer service first.
I have been fortunate enough to have visited most of the continents and some of my favourite destinations include Brazil; Colombia; Alaska; Dubai; Oman; Morocco and Algeria. I have plans to visit the Far East later in 2013. And, with the way things are going, who knows I might even one day get to visit the Moon!
In my spare time I enjoy the gym (can one really ENJOY the gym?); mountain biking in Wareham Forest and getting together with the many friends I have made while working in the travel industry.

On leaving school at the age of 16 in 1956, I joined the Merchant Navy as a Junior Assistant Purser with the British India Steam Navigation Company Limited (affectionately known as the BI) eventually becoming a Purser after serving aboard passenger ships (including s.s. 'Uganda'of Falklands fame); cargo ships; troopships; school ships and tankers. During my time at sea I visited Africa, India, the Far East, South America, The Pacific and Australasia. I was also lucky enough to visit some of the world's most remote islands including Pitcairn, Easter Island and Nauru.
Leaving the Merchant Navy in 1968 I emigrated, as a 'Ten-Pound-Pom', to Australia arriving in Perth, after a 6-week voyage aboard Sitmar Line's 'Fairsea' (and never was a ship more inappropriately named!) just in time to be welcomed by the 6.9 magnitude earthquake that destroyed the nearby town of Meckering.
As the airline I was to work for had gone bust while I was en-route from England, I ended up working in the Fremantle office of Royal InterOcean Lines.
After a year in Perth I moved to Sydney where I worked for P & O Lines of Australia and Forsyth Travel
Returning briefly to the UK in 1974, I moved to San Francisco in 1975 (experiencing the 6.9 Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989! What is it with me and earthquakes?) working for various travel agencies before returning to my roots in 1990.
I joined Select World Travel in May 1991 and for the past 22 years have specialised in researching and preparing tailor-made worldwide itineraries particularly to the USA; Canada; South Africa; Australia and the Far East.
My travels in recent years have taken me to Tasmania, Botswana, India and Japan. I have also fulfilled a lifelong dream of taking a Norwegian Coastal Voyage (Hurtigruten). Another highlight was one of the travel industry's best-kept secrets - a 6-night Gota Kanal cruise through Sweden.
But, as I approach my dotage I find myself itching to explore the myriad undiscovered delights and treasures of my birthplace!
